Q. When/Where do you work?
A. I am at 212 Tattoo in Richmond, 212 W Broad St from 12 noon until 9pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Appointments can be booked by calling the shop at 804-303-1089 or by sending me an email.
Q. How much is it gonna cost?
A. Tattooing generally operates on a scale of $100/hour, although that is not an absolute rule. I like to work with $100, $200, and $300 sessions, mostly because anything more complicated confuses me!
Q. Does it Hurt?
A. Yes it really does, there's just no getting around that. Excercising the area prior to getting the tattoo can help prepare your body for the sensation, ie., pushups for arm and chest tattoos, situps for stomach tattoos, etc. Having a friend to talk to can help distract your mind from the feeling, and focusing on slow, steady breathing during the tattoo is a great way to relax your body and distract your brain.
Q. But I'm scared of the pain, can I get drunk or high before i come in?
A. Getting drunk will thin your blood and make the time it takes to get the tattoo seem a lot longer, it's just not worth it. Getting high might cause your mind to focus entirely on the most obvious thing: the needle. Hold out til after the tattoo to party, it's worth it!
